Mina Teicher will elaborate on the mathematics behind beauty of people, animals, plants, architecture and design. The talk will be followed by Eric Londaits presentation of the Imaginary app that explores the relations between formulas, forms, mathematics and art.

Mathematics is Easy - Teaching It is Hard
Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, University of Cape Town
at the Lakeside Village Auditorium
Mamokgethi Phakeng will elaborate on the challenges of teaching mathematics and how to overcome them professionally and personal aspects. Her talk will be followed by an announcement of an exciting competition.
Professor Mina Teicher is the former Chief Scientist of the Israel Government, and a renowned mathematician who is interested in pure mathematics as well as applications of mathematics in real life. She is passionate about math education, popularization of mathematics and advancing women in mathematics.
Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Town and winner of the 2022 inaugural Africa Education Medal award. She is renowned researcher in math education and bilingual studies. She is the ultimate promoter and energizer of young people.
